Pushkar Rules
On the Ghats is not permitted:
Ø
Wrong or loud speaking.
Ø
Taking photographs or shooting movies of bathing people.
Ø
Wearing shoes within 40 feet (5 meters) from the water,
except wooden ones.
Ø
Smoking, eating gutka, tobacco & pan. Spitting, kissing
and cleaning one’s mouth.
Ø
Washing clothes or kitchen utensils.
Ø
Using soap or oil before bathing,
Ø
Deposit of Death People ashes except in Jaipur Ghat
basin. (Basmi at-ma shanty)
Ø
Pull out of the lake any Lotus ROOT Flower.
Suggested behavior on the Ghats to respect the Sanctity
of Pushkar.
Ø
Please respect people who are meditating, praying or
doing Puja.
Ø
Do not disturb them by passing near or between the lake
and them
Ø
Leftovers from Pujas should to be put in dustbins:
clothes, empty incense packets and empty bags or any
other debris.
Dress code for Pushkar and suggested for all over India
to respect Hindu culture and tradition and next
generation:
Ø
Women and men shoulders must be covered as well down to
ankles or below the knees and scarves with Holy
Scriptures should not be worn below the waist.
Ø
To avoid that the local youth laugh and speak badly
about you.
Ø
To avoid creating a bad reputation for the future
tourists who will come to India.
Ø
To respect the next person who will sit after you
(sweating hygiene matter).
Ø
To respect your self of being touch or harassed.
Pushkar general rules:
Ø
No killing or exploitation of any living creature.
Ø
No selling, bringing, offering or sharing of
non-vegetarian food such as eggs, meat, chicken and
fish.
Ø
No using of intoxicant substances likes beer, alcohol
and drugs.
Ø
Please do not disturb Religious procession when they are
coming in the street with their statue or music band.
Ø
On a motor bike you must wait until they finish to pass
before starting your engine.
Ø
And please try to not come or park on the main market
road it is actually a spiritual walk. Thousand of
Pilgrims are using that way to meditate.
